Tool Crib

We are looking for someone to assist in getting our tool crib up and running! Experience is a plus but not required!

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Tool Keeper Responsibilities

Transfer Tools In and Out of Crib – Manage Inventory Records

Take care of shop customers and the transfer of tools in and out of their crib locations in multiple bldgs. Reconcile tools transferred in the software system. Input data from daily Pick Sheets. Return tools to their proper locations. Print and install barcodes. Create and Update tool storage locations within the tool Crib and warehouse.

Acquire catalogue pictures from Web or take pictures and upload into the software system.

Create and Edit inventory records.

Test Software updates and suggest new enhancements to current software.

Run daily reports for management, (example: Lost Tools, Tools Not Returned, Inventory Turn Rates.)

Repair Damaged Tools

Perform minor repair on portable hand tools and/or scrap and replace. Send tools out for repair and receive tools in. Maintain status of inventory in inventory management software system.

Perform Inventory Audits

Perform weekly/monthly audits of tools in Cribs, Trucks and Job Locations. Update inventory records.

Maintain Cleanliness and Organization of Crib Areas

Using lean principles maintain stock levels, inventory locations and cleanliness of Cribs. Create, maintain, and improve tool crib and warehouse organization.

Order and Receive Inventory

Order existing inventory items to maintain stock levels. Mitigate low stock levels and provide visibility to management. Set up and order new inventory items. Manage local parts run from local suppliers. Receive Inventory.

Receive requests from employees in the field. Provide timely fulfillment and closure of these requests.

Using FIFO techniques rotate stock as required using various material handling equipment.


Ability to use the following equipment:

  1. Pallet Jack
  2. Forklift
  3. Computer (Windows, Excel, Word, Inventory Management Software)
  4. Company Vehicle

Requirements For This Position


Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

This is a shop/warehouse location, must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.

Work with limited supervision.

Bi-Lingual is a plus.
